Our story

Experience older than the company

Vertex Safety building

Vertex started in 2016; Vertex Safety B.V. has been working from Rotterdam since 2018. But the story began earlier, in the field. When our founders laid the company’s foundations, they already had nearly ten years in this sector behind them. In those years they saw first-hand what a badly placed detector can miss, what a postponed service can cost, and how much a reliable supplier matters when things get difficult.

Vertex was built on that experience and on a simple conviction: safety equipment only protects when it is chosen correctly, installed correctly and maintained regularly. Instead of spreading those three links across different companies, we brought them under one roof. When we take on a project today, the team that designs the system is the team that installs it and keeps it running for years, so responsibility never changes hands.

Gas and fire detection sit at the heart of our expertise. For fixed detection systems, sampling lines, and process and automation systems we manage every step, from site survey and engineering to installation and commissioning. We supply the equipment of the brands we distribute, along with personal protective equipment, directly to our customers in the Netherlands and Belgium.

From our office and service station in Rotterdam-Albrandswaard, close to the port, we reach ships and yards quickly. Our workshop in Brecht, Belgium, near Antwerp, serves customers across the border to the same standard. We run our service processes on Vertex Service, the platform we developed ourselves, and every job we do is recorded and backed by documents.

At our manufacturing facility at Abel Tasmanstraat 61 in Rotterdam-Albrandswaard we make our own products: pilot ladders, embarkation ladders, Jacob ladders and aluminium step ladders, as well as IMO signs and posters. We also print company logos and names on workwear with DTF printing.

What we do

Engineering, supply, service and knowledge

Turnkey

Six steps from survey to maintenance

  1. 01Site survey

Our sales engineers visit your site and, together with you, assess the process, the gases present, the fire risks and the way the operation runs.

  2. 02Engineering

We define the detector and sampling points, sensor technologies, alarm thresholds and cause-and-effect scenarios, and design the integration with your control system.

  3. 03Offer and supply

We price the required equipment line by line and present it as a turnkey project offer; once you approve, procurement begins.

  4. 04Installation and commissioning

We manage the installation, run loop checks, verify every detector with test gas and work through each scenario on site.

  5. 05Training and handover

We give your team hands-on training on the system and hand over the drawings, test records and certificates as one complete file.

  6. 06Periodic maintenance

Through calibration, sensor replacement and function tests we keep the system as reliable as on day one, tracking service dates on our platform.

How we work

Our principles

One point of contact

The same team designs, supplies, installs and maintains your system. When you have a question you know exactly whom to ask, and the answer is never passed on to another company.

Need first, product second

We select equipment based on the real risk on site, not on a catalogue. We will not suggest replacing a system that maintenance can make reliable again.

Offers shaped on site

We do not publish list prices, because no two sites are the same. Our experienced sales engineers see your project on location, determine the equipment it needs and prepare a turnkey offer with every item priced.

Documented work

Our services, tests and calibrations are documented with digitally signed certificates. Your auditor can verify the original in seconds by scanning its QR code.

Direct communication

We handle our correspondence by email; when something is urgent you can reach the right colleague directly by phone or WhatsApp. No question goes unanswered.

Information with a source

The standards and technical values on our product pages are based on manufacturer documents, and Knowledge Centre articles list their sources. We do not publish unverified information.

Vertex Service platform

Service tracking on one screen

We run our service work on Vertex Service, a platform we built ourselves. The form a technician completes on site becomes a signed certificate as soon as it is approved, and it appears straight away in your customer portal. No more chasing service due dates in spreadsheets.

Certificates verified by QR

Every certificate is digitally signed and carries a QR code. A surveyor or port official scans it and sees within seconds that the document is genuine.

Customer portal

Certificates, service orders, quotations and invoices for your vessels and sites sit in one account. Download documents one by one or in bulk.

Due-date tracking

List the equipment due within 90 or 30 days in one click; anything overdue is flagged separately. Renewal dates no longer slip through.

Offline app in the field

Our technicians run every job in a phone app. Forms, photos and readings are saved even without signal on board and sync as soon as a connection returns.

Planned around port calls

We follow each vessel’s AIS position and ETA and plan the service around the time the ship spends in port.

Secure and traceable

Each user sees only their own company’s records, and two-step sign-in is available. When a record changes, who changed it, when and why is kept on file.

Frequently asked questions

Why Vertex?

What sets Vertex apart from other suppliers?

We come from the field. The nearly ten years of experience our founders gained before 2016 has grown into a company that brings engineering, supply and service together. When the team that designs a system is also the team that maintains it, you have a single point of contact and no detail gets lost between stages.

How is a project offer prepared?

Every project starts with a site survey. Our sales engineers visit your facility or vessel and listen to the risks and your expectations. Through engineering we then determine the equipment required, price each item and present you with a turnkey project offer. If you only need products, simply email us the brand, model and quantity.

Can you take on just part of a project?

Of course. We recommend turnkey delivery but never insist on it. We can supply equipment for a project whose engineering is already complete, commission a system installed by another company, or take over the maintenance of your existing system. For systems we take over, we first carry out a thorough condition assessment and report the findings in order of priority.

What happens after the system is handed over?

Handover is where our work together really begins. We carry out periodic calibration, sensor replacement and function tests on schedule and make upcoming service dates visible in your customer portal, so no certificate expires unnoticed.

How do we access our service documents?

As soon as a service form is approved, a digitally signed certificate is created and appears in your Vertex Service customer portal. You can download documents one by one or in bulk, and have them verified during an audit with the QR code they carry.

Can you service ships in port?

Yes. From our office and service station in Rotterdam and our workshop in Brecht, Belgium, we come on board. By following the ship’s AIS position and estimated time of arrival, we plan the service to fit within its time in port.

Do you deliver across the Netherlands and Belgium?

Yes. We deliver the products of the brands we represent throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. For large projects we plan deliveries in phases to match your work schedule.
