What information is collected when you browse our website or write to us, how it is protected, and what we do not do.
This is a translation; the Dutch text prevails.
In short
This website is a product catalogue. You can browse it without an account; business customers can open an account to see prices and order. We use no tracking or advertising tools. We only process the details you give us (in a message, an account or an order) and the server’s technical access logs.
What is collected
- Contact form: name, company, email, phone, product of interest, subject and message. The form is forwarded by email to our Rotterdam office; the website does not store it in its own database.
- When you send the form, your IP address is used briefly only to block excessive submissions.
- Server access logs: IP address, date and time, requested page, browser information and referring page. Kept 14 days for security.
- Customer account (optional): account type (business or private), name, company, email address and phone number, and whether we have approved the account. Kept until you ask us to close the account.
- Orders: delivery and invoice addresses, contact person, your order reference, VAT number and the products ordered. The order is stored on the website and passed to our order and accounting system (Odoo, on our own server in the EU). Kept for 7 years because Dutch tax law requires it.
- Address lookup: when you enter a Dutch postcode, our server sends only the postcode and house number to the public PDOK address service of the Dutch government to fill in the street and town.
- VAT check: for deliveries outside the Netherlands we check the VAT number in the EU VIES system.
- Emails: we send a welcome email when you open an account and a confirmation when you order, through our email provider.
- Newsletter: if you sign up, your name and email address are passed to our newsletter service SendFox (United States). You can unsubscribe with the link in every newsletter; we then stop sending it.
- Preferences: your chosen language, product list view and quote list. See the Cookie policy.
What we do not do
- We use no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or social media plug-ins and build no visitor profiles.
- Fonts and images load from our own server; no requests go to third parties when a page opens.
- We do not sell your data or add it to marketing lists.
- There is no AI chatbot on this website, and no system takes automated decisions about you. We approve business accounts by hand.
WhatsApp and external links
WhatsApp buttons are wa.me links: when you click one you move to the WhatsApp (Meta) service and the conversation is subject to its terms. For links to manufacturer websites and other sites, their own privacy policies apply.
Security
- The website only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS, HSTS).
- Only authorised editors can access the admin panel; the content interface is closed to the public.
- Form submissions are validated and rate-limited.
- The server runs on Contabo GmbH infrastructure in Germany; software is kept up to date.
